JAMMU, Nov 28: Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Rakesh Gupta today called on the Commissioner, Commercial Taxes PI Khateeb and discussed several issues of the trading community with him.
Mr Gupta referred to the issue of migration from VAT to GST and also discussed the preparedness of the traders/ industrialists in this regard. He stressed the need of regular free training programmes at the Excise and Taxation Complex Jammu for the traders.
He demanded action against the people who are running business and selling taxable goods without any TIN or TOT Registration in the slum areas in Jammu city as well as persons selling on road sides and footpaths as it was effecting sales of honest taxpaying traders.
Mr Khateeb assured action against such people who were working against the taxation laws and causing losses to the State exchequer.
