JAMMU, Apr 30: Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI)  Jammu has expressed its grave concern over the stand-off  between the police and lawyers and urged upon both the institutions to resolve the issue amicably  in  the general public interest.
In a press statement issued here today, secretary general of the CCI Arun Gupta said  this apex body of  trade and industry feels that the two institutions, one dealing with the interpretation of law and the other with the implementation of law, should not clash with each other. The Chamber also feels that the leaders of various parties belonging to different hues and interests can compound the problem by issuing statements and siding with one or the other.
The Chamber called upon both the institutions to sit together, thrash out the problem, express their grievances, voice their concerns and come to a mutually agreed solutions. It is also true that the stand off  between the two sides is causing lot of problems to the general public. Both the institutions should resolve the issue without any loss of time in the interest of  the public. Criticising one or the other, making it a prestige point and taking a rigid stand will be detrimental to the interests of both. The present situation is creating an embarrassing situation for both and should be ended immediately.
