JAMMU, Aug 17: Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Jammu) today organized an interactive session with top BSNL officers and strongly projected the issue of poor services of the company in the region.
Chief General Manager (CGM) BSNL, J&K Dr Labh Singh, was accompanied by Gautam Lal, GMTD Jammu, AK Garg, General Manager Adm, AK Karara, GM Mobile, SK Khullar, GM CFA and Naresh Bharati DE Phones.
While welcoming the CGM and other officers, president of the Jammu Chamber Rakesh Gupta highlighted various problems being faced by the BSNL customers which include poor BSNL network due to which most of the times people are unable even to make important calls and also results in call dropping in maximum areas. The 3G network and WIFI system is also totally faulty, most of the BSNL towers are neither maintained nor are functioning properly in absence of non-functioning of DG sets.
CGM was also requested that the customer service center should be made functional from 8 am to 8 pm as per past practice and for issue of duplicate SIMs/ plan change and other related problems a separate BSNL counter should be opened in old Jammu city. CGM was also apprised that last month most of the BSNL customers did not get the information about their billing through SMS and their connection were disconnected which amounts to action without notice. CGM was also requested that a separate office for billing enquiry, billing complaints and restoration of connections should be established as customer service center.
It was also pointed out that most of the materials meant to improve the infra of BSNL in Jammu was diverted to Kashmir Valley last year in the month of September due to flash floods. The Chamber feels that it was done due to urgency and the situation demanded but after the lapse of more than 10 months nothing has been procured for the improvement of infrastructure and proper functioning in Jammu division. It was also apprised that the cable is down in most of the areas especially in Karan Nagar, Mohalla Afgana, Jullakha Mohalla, Talab Tillo area and Trikuta Nagar area.
CGM while speaking on the occasion assured the Chamber that the system which at present is faulty due to non-availability of equipments and shortage of batteries will be set right within a period of two months as we are going to receive the required number of equipments and batteries from the Delhi head office.
He also assured that BSNL is going to establish new counters for issuing duplicate SIMs, change of plan and solving other related problems in different localities of the Jammu city which include old city, Talab Tillo, Channi Himmat, Shastri Nagar etc.
Prominent among others present in the meeting include Sham Lal Langer, senior vice president CCI, Deepak Aggarwal, junior vice president, Arun Gupta, secretary general, Rahul Mahajan, Ashu Gupta, Atul Gupta and Jagdish Langer.
