DODA, Dec 27: The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of Police here today recovered Rs. 2,16,400 which were cheated online by the cyber frauds.
Giving details in this regard, Doda Police said that CCIU received complaints from Fozia Banoo, daughter of Mohd Rafi, resident of Khellani, Doda; Zaheer Abbas, son of Abdul Rashid Wani, resident of Jathi Assar; Shafika Begum, wife of Talib Hussain, resident of Kako, Tehsil Gandoh, Doda and Chanchla Devi, wife of Lt. Mulkh Raj, resident of Punyalla, Doda.
During the course of investigation, CCIU team made hectic efforts which led to the successful recovery of defrauded amount of Rs. 2,16,400.
SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta has reiterated in his appeal to the general public to remain extra vigilant and report the online cheating promptly at National Helpline number 1930 or lodge cyber crimes online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and in case of lost/stolen mobile, report at www.ceir.gov.in.
