CCRS inspects Banihal-Khari track of USBRL project

RAMBAN, Dec 7: After conducting a successful trial run of the first electric engine train with six coaches, Chief Commissioner Railway Safety (CCRS) Northern Railways conducted the inspection on Banihal-Khari track on Katra-Banihal section of USBRL today. Official sources said that CCRS, Dinesh Chand Deshwal who is on a three day tour of J&K along with other senior officers of Northern Railway inspected the newly constructed Banihal-Khari and Khari-Sumber track on a trolley and also inspected tracks and electrification works of tunnels and bridges.
They said the CCRS passed necessary directions to IRCON International Limited to complete the remaining work on Banihal-Khari and Sumber Stations on fast-track basis.
Later on Deshwal and other railway officers returned to Banihal on a DMU from Khari Railway Station.
Earlier on Tuesday Engineers of IRCON International Limited engaged by Northern Railway for the USBRL Project informed that the 25 KV Railway Electrification (ROCS) work between Banihal and Khari Stations was completed on Banihal-Katra section of Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project in Ramban district.
