JAMMU, Nov 9: On the instructions of Minister PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Chief Engineer, PHE, Sunil Sharma along with a team of engineers including executive engineers of Mechanical and Civil divisions of PHE today visited Sharda Colony, Patoli Brahmana where people reportedly have been facing water scarcity for a long time.
The Chief Engineer interacted with inhabitants of the locality and assured them that the problem will be solved soon. He also asked the officers concerned to ascertain the reasons for the water scarcity in the area.
The Chief Engineer assured the residents of the area that Government was planning construction of OHT near Panchayat Garh to over come the water shortage in the area and in the meantime efforts will be made to overcome the present shortcomings. He also issued directives to the staff to make the Tubewell No 2 in the area functional.
The Welfare Committee members of the Sharda Colony who apprised the problems of the area to visiting engineers included Roop Lal Raina its vice president, Bansi Lal Raina, its general secretary and Moti Lal Pandita.
