CEC asks deptts to promptly redress public grievances

LEH, Nov 14: Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Dr Sonam Dawa held a meeting with heads of all the departments and other important stake-holders, here today.
The meeting was attended by ECs, DC Leh, SSP Leh, representatives from HQ 14 Corps, ITBP and Air Force Station, Leh, all HoDs, Chief Conservator of Forest, Chief Engineer NHPC, Chief Engineer PDD, Chief Manager SBI, Leh and Technical Director-NIC, Leh.
The main purpose of the meeting was to get feedback on the existing plan, scheme and future proposals of each department.
Dr Sonam Dawa stated that his party (BJP) has been elected with a big mandate and they are committed to stand by their election manifesto and expectations of the people.
He requested all the officers to bring pace in their routine work with more energy and instructed DC to monitor transparency and accountability in their work.
Dr Dawa stressed upon the officers to maintain discipline and punctuality in the office and reiterated that corruption will not be tolerated at any cost. He urged every department especially Health and Education Department to ensure delivery system at ground level.
He pointed out the need to streamline and re-organize the planning section and the need of face lifting in engineering works. CEC gave assurance of full support and assistance on part of Council to ensure proper execution of departmental works. He also requested Army, Air Force and ITBP to have proper coordination with civil administration to address various issues concerning the development of the region.
While speaking, DC, Leh Prasanna Ramaswamy G laid emphasis on the importance of communication and information to ensure a proper mechanism of coordination among every department and stakeholders. He urged the officers to have a professional approach in dealing with their routine works.
It was informed by DC in the meeting that to meet the purpose of this meeting each department will give a presentation in the coming week based on a particular format. He mentioned that Army, Air Force and ITBP too will have their presentations to ensure better understanding of various works and schemes undertaken by them and vice-versa.
