SRINAGAR, Oct 10: Chief Executive Councilor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Rigzin Spalbar today took up with the Principal Secretary, Planning and Development Department B B Vyas the issue of early release of State’s matching share for timely completion of number of projects under Centrally sponsored schemes at Leh district.
For the execution of Centrally sponsored schemes in Leh district, the allotted State share is Rs 27 crore out of which Rs14.74 crore is for projects under NABARD and remaining Rs 12.28 crore is for other schemes like MGNREGA, IAY, AIDP, Total Sanitation Campaign, Mid Day Meal, Watershed and Hariyali (WSH) and Multi Sectoral Development Programmes (MSDP).
Considering the urgency of the request made by CEC, the Principal Secretary gave commitment for immediate release of State share for most of the Centrally sponsored schemes and issued on spot direction vis-à-vis WSH and MSDP.
Vyas also intimated Spalbar that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is scheduled to hold an early meeting to take up the issue of release of State share for NABARD schemes for the entire State taking into account the issue of cost overrun in most of the districts.
Later, CEC called on Secretary Education, Farooq Ahmed and demanded early filling up of vacant post of regular Principal at six Higher Secondary Schools and lecturers in the district. Spalbar also requested to make fully functional the upgraded high schools under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RAMSA) by providing the required teaching staffs. Farooq Ahmed assured to take immediate action in this regard.
