CEC chairs Ist Minority stakeholders meeting

Leh, Dec 21: Convened by the Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs LAHDC, Leh Ghulam Mehdi, the Minority stakeholders meeting was chaired by the Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh, Tashi Gyalson (Adv) for the first time in the history of LAHDC after its inception in 1995 today at Council Secretariat Leh.
CEC Gyalson highly appreciated EC Minority Ghulam Mehdi for convening Minority Stakeholders meeting for the first time and said that such meetings are not only important to highlight the issues and demands of minority communities but will start a fresh thought process involving young and educated youths in uplifting the backward community in every sphere of life.
Gyalson said that besides political issues, the leaders and youths of minority communities should highlight their issues and work for the welfare of students, women and poor people of minority society.
He stressed upon the leaders to play their part responsibly in identifying genuine issues and demands of backward society and assured that present Hill Council Leh run by BJP will ensure timely redressal of all genuine issues and expressed confidence on EC Minority Ghulam Mehdi to play a vital role in highlighting and resolving the issues of minority communities effectively.
The meeting was attended by a delegation of minority community headed by senior leader BJP Nazir Ahmed.
