LEH, Mar 2: Chairman/ Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, led a meeting here to finalize the alignment of the Leh-Manali bypass, which will run from Spituk to Upshi.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Executive Councillor for Agriculture Stanzin Chosphel, Councillors Tundup Nurbo, Sonam Thardos, and Mirza Hussain, along with senior officers from the Army and local administration.
Among the attendees were ACR Leh Shabir Hussain, Col KS Lavana, Commander of the 753 BRTF, Tehsildar Leh Dorjey Gailson, SDM Kharu Stanzin Namgail, and other officials from Project Himank and 111 RCC.
A detailed presentation was shared, emphasizing the project’s importance in improving traffic flow, reducing congestion, and enhancing regional infrastructure. The bypass is also expected to improve road safety and facilitate better access for both civilians and military personnel.
After thorough discussions, CEC Gyalson directed the team to conduct a survey and complete it within 15 days, in collaboration with local stakeholders and Councillors, to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
Army officials assured their full support and confirmed that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) would be prepared for the bypass.
All participants recognized the strategic importance of the project and reaffirmed their commitment to its timely completion, which will significantly enhance regional development and connectivity.
