CEC conducts tour of Nubra

LEH, Aug 30: During his one day tour of Turtuk and Bogdang area of Nubra Sub Division, the Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar met with the public representatives and villagers of Bogdang, Changmar, Chulungkha, Garari, Turtuk, Tyakshi and Thang.
The main intend of CEC’s tour area was to make common consensus among the people on a pending issue of opening the centralized residential schools considering huge enrollment of students in Bogdang and Turpuk area.
Addressing people at these villages, CEC reiterated that education is the only tool and the greatest empowerment for a person to capably overcome all challenges and lead a competent life not only for themselves but for the India as a whole. He said that LAHDC was fully resolute to make one generation of Ladakh entirely well educated that will consistently carry forward by next generations. Spalbar said that Bogdang-Turtuk area would soon become eligible for college on the basis of good number of student enrollment and opening of centralized residential school would become a strong base for higher education with special focus on ensuring quality education to the girl students who have been comparatively lacking behind in this area.
At Changmar, people demanded opening of a medical centre, arrangement of electricity and compound walling for the school. The Sarpanch of Bogdang, put forth some demands that include opening of link road to Nakpothang, opening of animal centre, opening of a primary school at Bogdang Yokma, replacement of old power DG set with a capable new one etc.
The people of Chulungkha demanded opening of a medical centre and renovation of main irrigation khul of the village. Likewise, the people of Turtuk through a memorandum strongly urged for streamlining the education system in the area, opening of an examination centre for JNV, LAHDC’s intervention to make early functional of the sanctioned J&K bank branch, replacement of old DG set with a new one seeking Council’s support for sanctioning block status for Turtuk, sufficient funds for development of Chhuthang, renovation of main Turtuk irrigation canal.
The public representatives of Tyakshi and Patsathang also submitted various demands which include, early construction of link road upto Tyakshi, posting of required teachers, renovation of main irrigation khuls, sufficient funds for development of Fada-thang, Kharpon-thang, Mukur-thang and Sikda-thang and making the BSNL tower functional.
CEC resolved many public demands on the spot. For major public works, he gave instructions to the concerned Executive Engineers and officers to initiate survey and paper works in order to take the urgent nature of works in hand.
