CEC, Councillors, DC Kargil, officers donate for COVID-19 Fund

KARGIL, Mar 27: In view of the emergent situation in wake of the global outbreak of the COVID-19, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today donated Rs 30 lakhs on behalf of all the Councilors of LAHDC Kargil towards COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund in favour of the Chairman District Red Cross Committee/ Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil.
In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil, the CEC has appreciated the role of the District Administration for the able handling of the emergent situation. He wrote that keeping in view the added strain on the resources of the district due to quarantining of a large number of people in and outside the district, the LAHDC Kargil was contributing the said amount.
The Chairman also acknowledged the remarkable efforts put in by the District Administration as well as the humane efforts shown by the general public and different organizations in the fight against COVID-19 thereby further strengthening this fight.
The CEC has also appealed the general public to contribute generously to the Red Cross Committee Kargil so as to strengthen the fight against COVID-19.
Meanwhile, keeping in view the prevailing situation due to COVID-19 and the need of resources for necessary medical facilities for quarantine, isolation and other required measures in the district, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer- ul- Haq Choudhary, the district officers and employees of the departments in the district, religious and social organizations as well as individuals are making voluntary donations towards the District Red Cross Fund, Kargil.
While as the Deputy Commissioner has made a personal voluntary donation of Rs 51,000 and Rs 19 lakhs from the DC United Funds towards the measures in the fight against COVID-19, the officers and employees have made voluntary contribution of Rs 3,96,343 till now and the process of donations is underway with full enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil has made a donation of Rs 2 lakhs towards the District Red Cross Fund, Kargil while as the Councillor Poyen Constituency Haji Muhammad Amin and alumni of the Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) Jammu have contributed Rs 30,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively.
