CEC directs engineers to ensure uninterrupted power supply

Leh, Oct 10: Taking serious note of frequent power break down particularly during peak hours, a meeting of all the Xen and engineers of PDD, PDC, STD and NHPC was held under the chairmanship of Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Drojey Motup here today.
The meeting was convened on the intervention of Executive Councilor Power, Gyal P Wangyal. The Executive Councilor for Animal and Sheep Husbandry Mumtaz Hussain, SE PWD, Leh, Xen Construction Division Leh and Xen PHE Leh also attended the meeting.
EC Power Gyal P Wangyal enquired in detail about the reason behind frequent power breaks during peak hours which not only forbid people from getting essential services but they could not even watch Ladakhi news on DDK Leh. He said that since all the issues including communication problems between power stations and sub stations have already been solved so there should not be any problem in streamlining power supply especially during peak hours.
CEC Dorjey Motup directed all the engineers to ensure close coordination among them in giving uninterrupted power supply in future. CEC Motup directed Xen PDD to remove few electric poles immediately along the newly macadamized road from Spituk to Choglamsar which are highly danger and can cause serious accident.
CEC also directed NHPC engineer to complete remaining transmission lines under RGGVY between Himaya -Ney and Chumathang on priority and directed him to include Keray, IKK and Kumduk under their ongoing project.
Installation of Transforms at newly completed water supply schemes, progress on transmission line for Sumdha Chanmo under Project Wing and progress on GoI’s ongoing Saubhagya scheme were also reviewed and discussed.
