KARGIL, Aug 19: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan along with the Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, Executive Councillor for Works Aga Syed Abbass Razvi and Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary today dedicated 4 ambulances for District Hospital Kargil (DHK), Community Health Centre (CHC) Sankoo and Community Health Centre (CHC) Shakar Chiktan.
The ambulances have been purchased at a total cost of Rs 18 lakh under Capex Budget (District Plan) 2018-2019.
Councillor Sankoo Aga Syed Ahmad Razvi, Councillor Thasgam Abdul Rahim, Councillor Hagnis Mohsin Ali, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil Dr Ibrahim Khan, Deputy CMO Muhammad Afzal Lone, BMOs of DHK, CHC Chiktan and CHC Sankoo besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion the CEC said that the ambulances have been provided to strengthen basic healthcare and referral services at the district headquarters as well as the rural areas. He said that 4 more such ambulances are being procured under Capex Budget during the current financial year.
Khan said that the LAHDC Kargil is fully committed to strengthen the health sector in the district which is among its top most priorities and concrete measures are being taken to achieve this goal.
The CEC said that to provide satisfactory healthcare services to indoor patients construction work on the 200 bedded hospital at Kurbathang, Sub District Hospital Drass and Community Health Centre Chiktan is being carried out in full swing.
Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary asked the Chief Medical Officer Kargil to work out a mechanism for providing surgical facilities to needy patients by teams of specialist and consultant doctors at CHCs and other health institutions in the district on a fortnightly basis. He also underlined the need to ensure advance preparations in this regard by assessing the needs and demands of the patients and carrying out the necessary diagnosis.
Meanwhile, several issues with regard to the overall functioning of the DHK, CHCs and PHCs also came up for discussion.
