KARGIL, July 28: Dr Mohammad Jaffer Akhoon, Chairman/CEC of LAHDC Kargil, today conducted a comprehensive inspection of the construction work of the ongoing NH-301 Kargil-Zanskar Highway.
Addressing various on-site issues, Dr Akhoon directed the General Manager of NHIDCL and the project consultant to optimize land use and expand the road where feasible.
He emphasized the need to repair irrigation canals affected by construction to prevent disruptions during the farming season.
Dr Akhoon also attended the 35th anniversary of Aga Syed Haider Razvi at Choskore Thang village.
The event honored the contributions of the prominent socio-religious figure, with Dr Akhoon praising Razvi’s progressive vision and impact on education.
He highlighted Razvi’s role in guiding numerous students, including himself and his elder brother, former Cabinet Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon, to success.
The CEC’s visit included flagging off a school bus for Noon Public High School Choskore Thang, funded through NHIDCL’s CSR initiatives.
The bus was a notable addition to the local education infrastructure, reflecting the ongoing commitment to community welfare.
In his address at the anniversary, Dr Akhoon lauded Razvi’s contributions to both the religious and educational spheres, calling for continued seminars to pass on his teachings to future generations.
He expressed gratitude to Chief Patron Anjum-e-Sahaeb Zaman Aga Migh-e-oth for organizing the event and allowing him to speak.
Additionally, during his visit to Kargil, Dr Akhoon stopped by Government Model High School Sangrah, where he admired the artwork of team Stringmo.
He praised the colorful mural project, expressing pride in the artistic talents of the students and congratulating their mentor, Master Sajjad Hussain, for his support and encouragement.
Dr Akhoon’s visit highlighted significant developments and community engagement efforts, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to infrastructure, education, and honoring local heroes.
