CEC Kargil raises casual labours’ issues

KARGIL, Mar 2: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, today expressed concern over the various issues which are being faced by the casual labours in Kargil district.
Addressing a press conference here today, the CEC highlighted the developments, including a recent meeting chaired with the Lieutenant Governor regarding the issues of casual labours.
He emphasized that recommendations, encompassing education facilities, group insurance, phased annual increments and adherence to the Minimum Wages Act of 1948, are poised for submission to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Expressing unwavering solidarity with casual labours, the CEC reiterated the Council’s commitment to support them both now and in the future.
He further expressed gratitude to Indian Air Force for its invaluable support in the operation of the AN 32 Courier Service.
Later, addressing concerns about the reopening of the Zojilla axis, the CEC assured expedited efforts once weather conditions improve, ensuring timely access to essential commodities, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
