CEC LAHDC Leh calls on LG

LEH, Aug 13: Chairman/ Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh, Tashi Gyalson along with State President, BJP Ladakh, Shri Phuntsog Stanzin called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), here today.
On the occasion, Tashi Gyalson requested the LG to allow traffic movement on Nimmo-Padum-Darcha Road every Sunday.
He also highlighted the need for Directors posted in Kargil to review and check the progress of ongoing development projects in Leh district also so that development works are not hampered.
Gyalson also suggested reviewing the division of Directors between the two districts and requested for the rationalisation of the boundary of Hemis High Altitude National Park.
The LG asked CEC Gyalson to hold a meeting with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) authorities to resolve the matter of allowing traffic on the Nimoo-Padum-Darcha Road every day for a few hours.
He also asked CEC to submit the proposal for the rationalisation of the division of Directors between the two districts so that an appropriate decision could be taken in this regard.
Among others who were present during the meeting included Dr Pawan Kotwal, Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar, Additional PCCF, Brij Mohan Sharma and Assistant Director, Tourism Department Leh, Fesal Iqbal Tantary.
