LEH, July 13: Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal made an extensive tour of his Constituency Sakti today and reviewed ongoing developmental activities.
The CEC addressed several public meetings at Kharu, Chemray, Sakti, Sakti Tagar, Sharnos and Lamas of Chemray Gonpa. Talking about some major upcoming projects in Saki area, CEC Wangyal said that a DPR of Rs 2.5 crore each stands submitted under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna (PMKSY) for water diversion from Wari-la and Chang-la for Sakti constituency and assured for its earliest approval and funding.
He said that for strengthening of Sakti Nallah from Taknak to Kharu, a project of Rs 8 crore stands submitted under NABARD and a playground/stadium worth Rs 1.28 crore at Kharu-Dho under Languishing projects is also sanctioned and at the tendering stage. He also assured for early survey of Sakti-Tagar drinking water supply scheme and urged people to cooperate with survey team.
Wangyal directed concerned officials of Rural Development Department, Kharu for earliest restoration of all the headwork of all the Irrigation canals from Taknak to Kharu which were damaged due to rising of water in Sakti Nallah so that farmers could get their yearly crop in hand timely.
The CEC also assured people for timely completion of all the ongoing projects under various schemes in Sakti Constituency in the remaining working season and urged people specially Sarpanch Gobas and Panchs to actively participate in the ongoing developmental works.
He directed XEn Construction, Nasser Husain and concerned engineers to complete links roads of Kharu and Sakti-Sharnos in coming months and urged people to resolve all the land disputes at village level.
At Chemday Monastery, the CEC assured to fulfill the genuine demands of the people priority wise in months to come and directed PDD Leh to make the already installed streetlight at Chemday Gonpa functional at the earliest.
