CEC lays foundation stone of Irri canal, Med Sub Centre Phay

KARGIL, Sept 14: On the first day of his Zanskar tour, Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan met a number of public delegations to know about their issues and grievances and also laid the foundation stone of various projects.
Executive Councillor for Tourism Er Phunsok Tashi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tsering Motup, Councilor Tangole Haji Ghulam Muhammad, Councilor Thasgam Abdul Rahim, Councillor Karsha Stanzin Jigmat, SDM Zanskar Sonam Dorjay besides other concerned district and sub divisional officers accompanied the CEC during the tour.
CEC Feroz Khan laid the foundation stone of Irrigation Kanal Kushul which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 297.23 lakhs under SDP. He also laid the foundation stone of Medical Sub Centre (MAC) at Phay village being constructed at a cost of Rs 194 lakhs under the Capex Budget.
The CEC directed the concerned officers to speed up the pace of work on the two projects so that the local population is benefited.
Meanwhile, the CEC Kargil interacted with various public delegations at Tangole, Shakma Karpo, Rangdum, Abran, Kushul, Skygam, Phay and adjoining villages to inquire about their issues and developmental needs.
People of the villages projected various issues and demands before the CEC which mainly included appointment of teachers, augmentation of power supply, construction of irrigation canals link roads, motorable bridges, play grounds and ice hockey rinks, payment of land compensation and other related issues.
Regarding the appointment of teachers at Government Middle School Tangole, the CEC assured that necessary orders in this regard will be issued in due course of time.
As regards to the issue of electricity at Shakma Karpo, CEC Khan assured that solar power will be supplied till hydroelectricity reaches the village. He also directed the concerned officers to prepare estimates for construction of bridge in the village.
At Rangdum, the CEC announced that administration is starting winter tuitions there to facilitate the village students. He also assured that solar power will be supplied to the village and necrssary steps will be taken to construct a helipad at a desired place suggested by the villagers.
At Abran, the CEC announced that an ambulance will be alloted to the medical centre. He further assured that the demand for construction of community hall will also be considered on priority, while at Phay he informed villagers that academic arrangements will be done at the Higher Secondary until permanent posts are filled.
