LEH, Apr 12: Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Dr Sonam Dawa visited Sakti constituency to take first hand information about the need and demand of the people and to address their urgent demands at Council level.
He was accompanied by EC Agriculture Tsering Wangdus, EC Animal and Sheep Husbandry Mumtaz Hussain and Councilor Sakti Gyal P Wangyal.
CEC laid down the foundation stone of three Water Supply Schemes at Taknak Phoo (Sakti), Chemday Nala Peu and at Kharu.
Giving patience hearing to the people, CEC issued instructions to the concerned officers and engineers to attend to the public demand and immediately initiate necessary measures to fulfill their demands on priority wise.
Regarding restoration of flood affected nallahs/head works and reclamation of agricultural land, CEC assured that as and when the Central Government will sanction the project of Rs 16 crores, the permanent restoration work would be taken in hand.
At Taggar, Sarpanch and Councilor demanded diversion of water from Changla to Taggar for irrigation purpose, protection bund in Taggar nallah, repair of head works and nallah damaged during the last year flood and dispose-off rotten ration.
At Tangnak, Sarpanch Sakti also put forth various demands which included diversion of water from Warila for irrigation purpose, opening of MAC at Taknak, completion of internal link roads, retention of bull at Animal husbandry centre for breeding purpose, leveling of play ground at new High School and drinking water facilities.
At Takthok Gonpa, the Monks demanded repair/restoration of solar plant, damaged during the flood, replacement of wooden electric polls, constriction of toilets and parking at Gonpa, repairs and restoration of headwork and nallah of Gonpa, providing of power transformer and repair of old community Hall Gonpa.
CEC on spot directed SE PWD for construction of parking X-En PDD for providing of transformer and replacement of electric polls and ACD for take up the repair work of community hall of Gonpa.
The people of Tathok Phoo also demanded for repair of old Primary School building, Opening of MAC etc. The people of Chemray and Kharu also put forth various demands to the CEC.
Regarding diversion of Warila and Changla water towards Sakti, CEC directed the EC PWD to prepare a proper DPR. CEC also asked the Panchayat to execute the minor works under MGNREGA.
CEC also inspected PHC Sakti and High School Sakti and interacted with the medical staff and teaching staff. At PHC the Sarpanch demanded for providing of submersible pump for drinking water, power supply and solar power plant.
District Superintendent Engineer PWD Tashi Chombel, SDM Kharu Ghulam Mehdi and other district officers and engineers also accompanied the CEC.
