JAMMU, Apr 10: A book titled ‘Chos La Jug Pe Sgo’, a basic introduction to Buddhism written by the late Professor Jamyang Gyalson, was reprinted by the Alumina Association of CIBS in his memory.
The book was released today by Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, in the presence of Executive Councillor Tashi Namgyal Yakzee. The CEC appreciated the efforts of the Alumina Association of CIBS in preserving and promoting the region’s literary and spiritual heritage.
Also present on the occasion were Dr Sonam Paldan, president of the Association and its executive members. The book will be distributed free of cost to the public starting tomorrow.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Tashi Gyalson said, “We, at LAHDC Leh, have also initiated the Tsomrik Yarsket Scheme to support local authors, scholars and poets. Through this scheme, we provide subsidies for book publications and aim to encourage literary expression while preserving the cultural heritage of the region”.
