LEH, Apr 12: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Leh, Gyal P Wangyal and Executive Councillor for Agriculture and Cooperative Phunchok Stanzin took stock of vegetable distribution for different blocks of Leh district at Cooperative Super Market Store Leh today morning.
Wangyal directed officers of the committee constituted by Hill Council Leh headed by ADC Leh Dr Zahida Bano to distribute vegetables and other essential commodities as per the list prepared by LAHDC Leh and ensure equal and fair distribution as per the list strictly. He made it clear that at sub divisional level, SDMs will ensure equal and fair distribution of vegetables and will report LAHDC, Leh accordingly.
Interacting with media persons, Executive Councillor for Agriculture and Cooperative Phunchok Stanzin said that Council is trying its best to cover every village of the district in equal distribution of fresh vegetables on sale in coordination with people representatives and as per the list prepared by LAHDC Leh based on the tentative census data of 2017-18 for Leh district, the vegetables are being distributed for sale. The list of tenants and labours obtained from concern Gobas in Leh town area are also being considered for supply of vegetables, said EC Phunchok.
“To reduce the possibility of infection and to lessen the concern of people, the vegetables were stored couple of days before at Leh and on the third day, the vegetables are being distributed today for seven blocks of Leh district and will cover maximum villages of the seven blocks,” said EC Phunchok and added that as per the roster other blocks will be covered in coming days.
