LEH, Dec 31: Chairman/ CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson concluded a two day visit to Bylakuppe, South India, on December 30.
The visit included meaningful engagements with several Tibetan monastic institutions, monastic leaders, and Ladakhi students studying in the region. He also interacted with representatives of various Tibetan organizations, reaffirming his continued support for the community’s spiritual and educational welfare.
The visit commenced on December 29, with a warm reception at Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, where the Chairman was received by representatives from the monastery, the Tibetan Settlement Officers, Tibetan Youth Congress, Tibetan Women’s Association, and other Tibetan organizations. The reception highlighted the strong bond between the Ladakhi and Tibetan communities.
Gyalson had an audience with Khen Rinpoche and Kilkhang Rinpoche of Tashi Lhunpo, where discussions were held on the upcoming visit of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama to the monastery. The CEC also conducted a site visit to the monastery in preparation for the Dalai Lama’s visit.
CEC then visited Namdroling Monastery (Golden Temple) of the Nyingma tradition, where he met with Rinpoche and engaged in discussions regarding the monastery’s activities. He also met with Ladakhi monks studying there, addressing their concerns and assuring them of his commitment to addressing their grievances. The CEC toured the monastic temples, reinforcing his support for the monks’ welfare and academic endeavours.
In the evening, CEC held a discussion at Tashi Lhunpo Monastery with Khenzur Rinpoche, Kachen Lobzang Sherab, and Kachen Zotpa Rinpoche on issues related to the monks’ welfare, scholarships, and other matters of significance. On the second day of his visit, CEC visited Serajey Monastery and Seramey Monastery, where he was warmly received by the monastic heads and members of the Ladakhi student community. At the Sera Mey Monastic University and Sera Jey Monastic Institute, he met with monastic heads and Ladakhi students, discussing key topics such as Bhoti language, scholarship programs, and other developmental concerns.
A special program was organized at Sera Thekchenling Lachi Monastery, where he visited the Lachi Cultural Society and met with Khen Rinpoches and representatives of Ladakhi monks to discuss important matters related to the community’s well-being. Gyalson also visited Gyudmed Tantric University in Hunsur, where he engaged in detailed discussions with Khen Rinpoche (Abbot), members of the Yas Board, and representatives from Tawa on a range of important issues affecting the monastery.
The visit concluded at Ayang Rinpoche’s monastery, from where the CEC departed to Mysore. The CEC’s tour culminated at Dzongkar Choede Monastery, where he held discussions with Rinpoche and Board members on several matters.
