KARGIL, Oct 7: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan in virtual presence of the Member Parliament (MP) Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal (JTN) inaugurated 1000 LPM Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plant under PM Cares Fund at 300- bedded hospital, Kurbathang in Kargil here today.
Executive Councilor for Health Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Kargil Muhammad Hassan, General Manager National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Chutak Power Project, Lhenchup Lepchay besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
Executive Engineer Mechanical informed that the process of installation of the oxygen plant was carried out under the supervision of the Mechanical Department and in future the operationalization of the plant will also be taken care by the department.
Meanwhile, CEC Feroz Khan along with DC Kargil attended the virtual inauguration of 35 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants by Prime Minister Narendra Modi across various states and UTs from AIIMS Rishikesh today.
Till now, a total of 1,224 PSA oxygen plants have been funded under the PM Cares Fund across the country, out of which 1100 plants have been commissioned providing an output of over of 1,750 MT oxygen per day.
Meanwhile, the General Manager NHPC and other concerned officers of NHPC also attended the live webcast.
The concerned officers from NHPC informed that as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), NHPC Kargil will install two 500 LMP PSA oxygen plants, one each at District Hospital Kargil, Kurbathang and Community Health Centre (CHC) Sankoo. The total cost for the installation of two oxygen plants will be around Rs 2 crores, the officers added.
