KARGIL July 17: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan during his extensive visit of Barsoo Block and Thasgam area on Thursday took stock of the pace of progress on various developmental activities and also inquired in detail about the developmental needs, issues and grievance of the public.
CEC Khan met the PRI members including Sarpanchs and Panchs and a number of public delegations at villages Hamri Thang, Thasgam, Brakoo Thasgam, Styagburik, Karchay Khar, Styangkung, Purkichay, Singrong, Lababs Barsoo, Thangboo Lababs, Khandi, Tikat, Hurtuna, Bartoo, Shargandi, and adjoining villages who apprised him about the present status of developmental scenario in their respective villages and projected a number of demands, developmental needs, issues and grievances for immediate redressal.
The common issues, grievances and developmental needs projected by the locals included the augmentation of drinking water supply, provision of mobile towers, linking the power supply lines with Chutak Hydel Project, construction and repairing of irrigation khuls, payment of pending land and tree compensations on account of land patches which have come under road constructions and other projects, completion of the incomplete works and macadamization of Brakoo-Itchoo (BI) Road, up gradation of Middle Schools to High and High Schools as Higher Secondary Schools, construction of protection bunds for agricultural lands along Itchoo Nallah, opening of vocational training centres for ladies, establishment of lift irrigation schemes and other related issues.
The CEC gave a patient hearing to all grievances and demands projected by the PRI members and people’s delegations and assured them that all genuine demands would be considered on priority and steps for fulfilment would be taken in a phased manner by taking up the issues with the concerned departments.
In case of certain issues, CEC Khan gave on spot directions to the officers concerned for immediate appropriate action.
While interacting with the public delegations Feroz Ahmad Khan said that concrete measures are being taken to ensure that the benefits of development reach to the masses living in remote and far off areas in the most satisfactory manner.
