CEC visits Khaltse villages, takes stock of developmental issues

LEH, Feb 2: On the 4th day of his visit to Khaltse Sub-division, Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) LAHDC, Rigzin Spalbar, today visited the villages of Nurla, Tar, Tia, Ang, Tingmosgang, Hipti-dho, Rizong, Ulley Tokpo, Alchi, Lhardo, Mangyue and took stock of the local problems.
He was accompanied by Executive Councilor, Agriculture, Sonam Dorjey, Executive Councilor, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Gyurmet Dorjey, Councilor, Khaltse, Tsetan Namgyal and other sub-divisional level officers and a team of engineers
At Nurla, Councillor, Khaltse briefed CEC about work done in the area and demanded conducting of early survey for construction of road to Tar village. He also demanded power supply to the village. Sarpanch, Nurla, demanded for delimitation of Nurla under Temisgam constituency and cleaning of Nurla nallah filled with debris after 2010 flash-flood.
Replying to the demands, CEC said that after a meeting with Councilors and Sarpanchs a proposal will be submitted to the State Government for formation of delimitation committee.
At Ang, Tia, Tingmosgang and Nurla, the villagers mainly demanded for draining of nallahs from Tia to Nurla and Ang to Nurla that were destroyed during the 2010 flash-flood.
CEC, addressing to this issue said that LAHDC has already forwarded a Rs 92-crores project to the State Government.
On the urgent request for widening and up-gradation of the roads from Nurla to Ang and from Nurla to Tia, CEC told that an Rs 18 crore-project under PMGSY has already been sanctioned from State Government as well as Centre Government and work on it will begin soon after the completion of other necessary formalities.
The CEC and his team also visited the villages of Tar, Alchi, Rizong, Ulley Tokpo, Gera and Mangue and took stock of the developmental issues of these villages.
Talking to Sarpanchs and Panchs, the CEC urged them for optimum utilization of the various Government funds and asked them to make sure that the funds should reach the needy.
