JAMMU, Nov 29: A joint delegation of State Joint Action Committee of All Engineering Graduates Associations led by Farooq Ahmed Ganie, president, J&K CEGA and Firdous Ahad Bhat, president, J&K MEGA, today met the Minister for PHE, I&FC Shyam Lal Choudhary at Civil Secretariat and discussed the issues for redressal of all long pending issues faced the Civil and Mechanical engineers working in PHE/ I&FC.
The delegation apprised the Minister about the long pending issues confronting the fraternity like stagnation of cadres, slow functioning of HRM branch, financial disparity faced by the engineers and implementation of SRO 297 regarding the promotions at different levels in letter and spirit. The delegation apprised the minister about the issues pertaining to Mechanical fraternity of Hydraulic wing like creation of separate Hydraulic Chief Engineer, expansion /creation of more Divisions and Sub Divisions of Mechanical in PHE, I&FC, as there is one Mechanical Division in almost four districts across Jammu and Kashmir and are over burdened.
They also demanded for creation of separate head for operation and maintenance of DG sets installed at various lift schemes across the State. They pleaded the case of already approved creation of two mechanical Divisions each in PHE and Irrigation as already recommend by DDB Anantnag
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them the speedy redressal of all these issues.
The delegation included the executive and guidance council members of both the associations, namely- Ashaq Ahmad Ashaq (General secretary, J&K CEGA), Vinod Kumar Pandita (AE, Mech), Rakesh Chander (AE Civil), Sumesh Hangloo (AE, Civil), Rahul Kotwal (AE Civil), Suresh Sharma (AE Civil), Saqib Qazi (AE, Civil) and others.
