KATRA, Oct 12: Famous celebrity singer Masha Ali, who is known for his famous hit songs like Khanjar, Kasam, Raaz etc, enthralled the audience with his melodious songs on the 2nd day of the All India Devotional Song Competition that is underway at holy town Katra.
With the melodious songs of Masha Ali the environment of the venue became spiritual and the people were seen dancing on his tunes and same was the condition of Chaman Lehri, former winner of the All India Devotional Song Competition, who also mesmerized the audience with his melodious voice.
The preliminary round on 2nd day began with lighting of traditional lamp by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar and singer Masha Ali in presence of Programming Head, Radio Mirchi, 98.3, Khushboo Mattoo, Chairman Devotional Song Committee and president, Hotel Association Katra, Rakesh Wazir, CRPF Commandant, Jitender Kumar Gupta, Additional SP Katra, Naresh Singh and Yog Acharya, Swami Yoga Nand ji.
In this round, Saisha Gupta from Jammu took 1st position while 2nd position was shared by Rakesh Malhotra from Jammu & Malkit Kadri from Punjab, and 3rd position was held by Aditya Langeh from Jammu. They were provided cash prizes of 10000, 5000 and 3000, respectively.
They were adjudged by the panels of experts in music including Singer Masha Ali, Dr Usha Bhagati, Ex-HoD Music and Dr Surinder Sharma, HoD, Government Degree College Sanjoli, Himachal Pradesh.
The proceeding of Competition was conducted by Rakesh Wazir, who while speaking on the occasion informed that many famous singers are lined up for their guest performances on the stage including Manu Vandana and & Ravi Kumar (on Oct 13), Sunil Mattu & Rajan Gill (Oct 14), Amrinder Bobby (Oct 15), Sonali Dogra & Anjusha (Oct 16) and Balkar Sidhu & Pawni Pandey (Oct 17). He said that the live telecast of the event is available on Shradha Mh one from 9 PM onwards daily.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the first position holders of daily competition will compete with the winners of the quarter final on October 16, for their entry into final and the quarter final will be held on October 15 which will be of 2nd & 3rd position holders of daily competition.
