JAMMU, Dec 26: Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha celebrated 135th birth anniversary of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan with solemn and fervour at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalamar Road, Jammu.
The participants garlanded the photo of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan and paid him glowing tribute besides throwing light on his services for the people in general and Mahajan community in particular.
Shiv Partap Gupta, Sr Vice President of JCMS and Zonal President (J&K Zone), Akhil Bhartiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha threw light on the life history of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan and described him a great patriot with whose wisdom Jammu and Kashmir became part of India. He spoke about the simplicity and social reforms in Mahajan Biradari especially.
Arun Gupta, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industries, also participated along with his team members and said that Justice Mehr Chand was against unnecessary extravaganza in marriages and this should be followed by all the biradaries.
Sanjay Mahajan, General Secretary, while remembering Justice Mahajan, elaborated that he was a member of Redcliff Boundary Commission for Punjab and played a vital role to make Jammu and Kashmir part of India.
Subash Gupta, also spoke on the occasion. He called for following the values and principles of Justice Mahajan for the welfare of the Biradari.
