Central Prabhari Officer visits Kupwara, reviews progress under ADP

KUPWARA, Aug 5: Central Prabhari Officer of Aspirational District Kupwara, Shantmanu today visited Kupwara and took a review under the Aspirational District Programme (ADP) and APB (Aspirational Block Plan).
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan briefed the chair about the progress and achievements made under various sectors in the district including Aspirational District Programme, Health, Education, Agriculture, Financial Inclusion & Skill Development and Basic Infrastructure.
Speaking at the occasion, the Central Prabhari Officer said that the Aspirational District Programme has a great impact at the grassroots level. He said almost all ADP Districts including frontier Kupwara have made remarkable progress on Key development parameters as compared to the baseline, and are performing significantly better today than they were before the programme was initiated.
He said that the basic purpose of the review meeting is to check the areas which need more focus.
The District Development Commissioner apprised the chair that Kupwara district is one of the 117 districts chosen by NITI AYOG in January 2018. She said that the district achieved top Delta Ranks 3 times and was awarded Grant of aid of Rs.3 crore each with a total of Rs.9 crores besides, the district received the PM’s Award of Excellence along with Trophy Certificate & Prize conferred by Prime Minister.
It was informed that conversion of 13 Health Sub Centres into Health & Wellness Centres was made by construction of additional rooms under Award Money 2020. Achievements under the Health sector were also highlighted including awarding of National Quality Certificate of CHC Kupwara and CHC Sogam, besides, 02 Sub Health Centres also got Quality Certification under NQAS programme.
Meanwhile, the Central Prabhari officer impressed upon the officers to improve the parameters and indicators which pertain to them so that benefits of different centrally sponsored schemes trickle down to the doorsteps of deserving. He further stressed on convergence between different departments and programmes for better service delivery.
Later, the Central Prabhari Officer visited the District Library Kupwara which was recently upgraded. He also paid a field visit and took stock of various ongoing developmental works in the district.
