JAMMU, July 15: Congress expressed concern over the inadequate implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes in the Vijaypur tehsil of Samba District and misuse of money under these schemes, here today.
“The centrally sponsored schemes are not being properly implemented in the Vijaypur block and many a works remained incomplete due to poor planning”, former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjeet Singh said while addressing a huge gathering at village Rakh Rajpur, here.
He said the main reason for lack of implementation of centrally sponsored schemes included lack of accountability on the part of concerned officers, corruption and lack of awareness among the people.
Singh further alleged that despite a bulk of money sent by the Congress led UPA Government in connection with centrally sponsored schemes, the poor people are hardly benefited.
Meanwhile, regarding Panchayat Raj in Jammu and Kashmir, Manjeet said that there is immediate need to implement the Panchayat Raj Amendments in the State Constitution to strengthen the institution.
