JAMMU, Feb 28: The Central Government today released list of 34 private hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir which have been authorized for COVID-19 vaccination at the rate of Rs 250 per dose while in the Government sector over 1100 Government hospitals up to the level of Primary Health Centres (PHC) have been activated for second phase of inoculation which will cover the people above 60 years of age and 45 years plus with co-morbidities.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has also identified 20 co-morbidities for getting COVID jab for the people between 45-59 years of age while all people above 60 can register themselves for vaccination in second phase of the drive.
However, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to keep vaccine registration open for healthcare and frontline workers, who were covered in the Phase-I for one more week as some of them have been left out.
Director Health Services Dr Renu Sharma told the Excelsior that the window will remain open for one more week for registration of healthcare and frontline workers who couldn’t be vaccinated for Coronavirus in the first phase because of some genuine reasons.
She said 1100 plus Government hospitals have been designated as vaccination centres across Jammu and Kashmir, around 550 each in Jammu and Kashmir divisions for free vaccination in the Government centres.
“In the first phase, the hospitals up to the Community Health Centres (CHCs) had been opened for vaccination but in the second phase, the Government hospitals right up to the Primary Health Centres have been activated as vaccination centres,” Dr Sharma said.
In addition, the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare today released list of 34 private hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir which have been authorized to administer COVID vaccine in second phase to the people above 60 years of age and 45 years plus with co-morbidities.
The private hospitals which will give jab at the rate of Rs 250 per dose were spread in 11 districts of the Union Territory including Jammu, Srinagar, Udhampur, Samba, Reasi, Kupwara, Kathua, Budgam, Anantnag, Pulwama and Kulgam.
“The people above 60 years of age can register themselves with Co-WIN 2.0 App on their own by giving date of birth proof while those between the age group of 45-59 will have to give record of any of the 20 co-morbidities listed by the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare,” sources said.
