Centre committed to early commissioning of plant: Narayanasamy

CHENNAI, Sept 22:
Terming the continuing stir against the Kodankulam Nuclear Power Project (KNPP) as unreasonable, Union Minister of State for PMO V Narayanasamy today said the Centre was committed for the early commissioning of the  plant.
Talking to reporters on his arrival here from New Delhi, he said the agitation by the Anti-nuclear Struggle Committee led by People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) was  unreasonable.
“There is absolutely no reason for the agitation as the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board and the Department of Atomic Energy have inspected the safety features before giving the nod to load uranium fuel rods in the first unit of the 2×1000 MW KNPP,” he added. (PTI)
