NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde today said the Centre had information about Samba infiltrations and it had sent an alert regarding that.
“We had information about infiltration and we had sent an alert. It wasn’t particular about Keran sector but infiltration as a whole,” Mr Shinde told a news conference here.
He said, “I have asked for a report on from J&K police. There are some lapses, we are inquiring into it.”
Meanwhile, the Border Security Force (BSF) has denied media reports that the militants who carried out the twin terror strikes in Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu on September 26 had crossed the international border (IB) in the Hira Nagar sector.
Earlier, media reports had indicated that the three militants who struck in Kathua and Samba, killing 12 people, had breached the border fence in the Hari Nagar sector of the international border. The three militants were also killed in the incident. (agencies)
