Centre-JK Govt discuss law & order, rehabilitation of Pandits

NEW DELHI: Amidst tension in parts of Kashmir, the Centre today reviewed the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir besides plans for early rehabilitation of displaced Pandits.

Senior officials of the Home Ministry and the Jammu and Kashmir Government were closeted for an hour and discussed the prevailing security situation in the State and how to improve it further.

Today’s discussion came a day after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed various issues, including law and order situation in the state.

The meeting came amidst the curfew-like restrictions imposed in parts of Srinagar and Kupwara districts in Jammu and Kashmir as tension mounted over the killing of three persons in firing by security forces to quell protests after an alleged molestation incident. (AGENCIES)
