Centre releases over Rs 280 cr for SSA, girls hostels, RMSA in J&K

SRINAGAR: An amount of over Rs 280 crore has been sanctioned by the centre for Jammu and Kashmir under SSA, girls hostels and RMSA, an official spokesman said here this evening.

He said the Union Minister for Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Prakash Javdekar, today announced release of Rs 200 crore to meet the pending salaries of SSA teachers in the Jammu and Kashmir.

While chairing a meeting with the J&K School and Higher Education Department led by the Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari at New Delhi, the Union Minister said that Rs 200 crore shall be released to J&K under SSA shortly. (AGENCIES)
