Centre reviews JK situation at high-level meet

NEW DELHI: The Centre today convened a high-level meeting to review the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Various aspects related to security situation, including the troops deployment, political situation and infiltration attempts from across the border were discussed, Government sources in the South Block told UNI.

The meeting, held at the official residence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh was attended by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh.

Mr Parrikar is understood to have apprised the meeting of the three-tier infiltration grid put in place to prevent militants from crossing into the State, said the sources. (AGENCIES)
