Centre seeks proposals for extension of National Highways

NEW DELHI, Dec 11:
The Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Pon Radhakrishnan today informed the Lok Sabha that the Government has connected all the district headquarters of the country,which are more than about 10 kms away from existing NH network with NH network except a few districts in UP,MP and Gujarat.
In a written reply,Mr Radhakrishnan said the Ministry has requested the state governments concerned to send the detailed proposal for providing connectivity to the district headquarters with NH network.
The Minister said the development of National Highways (NHs) is a continuous process and works are taken up in stretches. According to him,during the current year,three works amounting to Rs 21.02 crores have been approved for the development of NH in Kerala. (UNI)
