JAMMU, Jan 10: National Conference Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta today stated that the “Centre’s proxy rule” has failed the historically rich and diverse State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting of the Youth Wing of J&K National Conference, Gupta, accompanied by Ajaz Jan, Provincial President, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Youth Wing, and former legislator, expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation in J&K under the present administration.
Gupta outlined the challenges faced by the people, citing a troubling erosion of democratic values, economic instability, and an overall decline in the quality of life.
He emphasized the disparity between BJP’s promises and tangible improvements on the ground, calling for a reassessment of Government policies and meaningful discussions with all stakeholders to address the complex issues affecting Jammu and Kashmir.
As the Provincial President urged the youth brigade of the party to gear up for the upcoming polls in Jammu and Kashmir, he underscored the significance of active participation in the democratic process.
Gupta encouraged the cadre to engage with the electorate, expressing confidence that a united and dedicated JKNC’s youth brigade would play a pivotal role in shaping the political landscape during the upcoming elections.

He highlighted the standstill in democracy with the completion of tenures of elected Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members.
