JAMMU, Oct31: Chief Executive Officer, J&K ERA Vinod Sharma today inspected progress on Bikram Chowk flyover and sewerage projects being executed by Jammu and Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency (J&K ERA) in Jammu city under the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development Investment Programme (JKUSDIP) funded by Asian Development Bank.
During his extensive site visit CEO ERA inspected progress of work on Bikram Chowk Flyover, which is about 1.3 km long and being constructed at the cost of Rs 71 crores. He impressed upon the engineers, consultants and contractors to work with team spirit to ensure systematic and timely completion of the flyover project.
CEO ERA also inspected progress of work on Sewage Treatment Plant at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu being constructed at the cost of Rs 28.60 crores. Later, he conducted site inspection of various sewage projects at Bakshi Nagar and Sarwal Colony being executed at the cost of Rs 115 crores. He inspected the ongoing works of house connections and laying of pipe-lines.
During his visit to the Canal Road, Bakshi Nagar and Sarwal areas, the CEO also interacted with the people and listened to their grievances regarding the difficulties being faced by them because of the slow progress of work and delay in the restoration works. He instructed the contractor to mobilize additional resources to complete the road restoration work, where pipe-line laying is complete in order to avoid inconvenience to the commuters.
Mr Sharma was accompanied by Chief Engineer (Director Jammu) Ravinder Raina, Project Manager Shakti Sagar and other senior officers of J&K ERA and the staff of Consultants hired by the agency.
