SRINAGAR, Jan 22: Chief Executive Officer (CEO), J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA), Vinod Sharma, today conducted the daylong site inspection of works being executed by ERA under the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development Investment Programme (JKUSDIP) funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The works inspected include the construction of five tier multilevel mechanized semi automatic car parking facility at KMDA, construction of sanitary landfill cell-2 at Achan and construction of expressway corridor from Jehangir Chowk to Rambagh.
CEO while reviewing the progress of Rs 250 crore construction of Expressway corridor from Jehangir Chowk to Rambagh was informed that around 45 per cent progress has been achieved on the work. He was informed that as on date, work on section B, C and D of the project is in progress while as work on section A will be started soon. He was informed that 203 pre-stressed concrete girders have been cast out of which 68 PSC girders have been launched.
Later, he inspected the work on Rs 27.05 crore construction of five tier multilevel mechanized semi automatic car parking facility at KMDA were he was informed that 90 per cent of prefabricated mechanical equipments which comprises 70 per cent of the work have been imported from China and superstructure stand already installed while as presently the electromechanical pellets are being installed and till date 72 pellets have been positioned in the slots.
He also inspected the Programmed Logic Control (PLC) Unit for this facility which has also been imported from China and will be the control unit for operation of the facility.
CEO directed the contractor to complete the work within the stipulated time frame. He directed the contractor to ensure its completion by April 2016 so that the work is commissioned by May 2016.
He also inspected the work on Construction of Cell -2 at Achan, Srinagar a Municipal landfill site which is spread over an area of 527 kanals where waste collected by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation is being dumped along the scientific lines.
He was accompanied by Basharat Malik, Director Central, J&K ERA, Mir Mohammad Iqbal, Project Manager, JKUSDIP, J&K ERA and other senior officers of J&K ERA and consultants.
