JAMMU, Feb 16: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) Rahul Yadav today visited the site and inspected the progress on establishment of a depot for electric buses at Bhagwati Nagar.
Additional CEO, Rakesh Kumar Gupta; Director Technical, Sham Lal Kapoor; General Manager (Finance), JSCL & Nodal Officer for e-buses project J&K, Ashish Anand; Deputy General Manager, JSCL, Gurmeet Singh; AEE JSCL, Ravi Salgotra and officials from Tata Motors accompanied him.
During the visit, Rahul Yadav was apprised about the progress made so far. He was informed that the land has been handed over to Tata Motors and the work for the establishment of a depot for electric buses has been started.
Assuring all possible help to the project executing agency, the CEO JSCL asked concerned officials to clear all the bottlenecks and expedite the pace of work.
He also directed all the concerned officials that the work should be completed in the set time frame as Jammu and Kashmir is bracing up for G20 meetings as well as the annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Yatra 2023.
He also added that electric buses will establish an environmentally, socially and financially sustainable network of public transport in the city.
Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir government is procuring a fleet of 200 electric buses, 100 each for capital cities of the Union Territory, Jammu and Srinagar.
