Excelsior Correspondent
SRINAGAR, June 14: On the directions of N N Vohra, who is also the Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, R. K. Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, inspected the Chandanwari to Sheshnag track and took stock of to-date status of the arrangements being made for this year’s Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which is scheduled to commence on 28th June.
On his way to Sheshnag, Mr. Gupta directed CEO, Pahalgam Development Authority, to ensure urgent removal of snow and debris from the tracks. Taking serious note of slow pace of work, Mr. Gupta asked the PDA to deploy additional manpower on double shift basis to compensate for the loss of time due to adverse weather conditions till mid-May.
All the Camp Directors deployed with the Shrine Board have been requested to reach their assigned Camps at Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Panjtarni, Sangam and Holy Cave by 16th of June.  They will supervise all the arrangements and facilities being setup for the pilgrims, and furnish reports to the Shrine Board Control Room on daily basis. These reports will enable the CEO to take corrective action, including passing on instructions to the concerned departments, for early completion of preparatory works.
