JAMMU, June 24: The Combined Entrance Test (CET) of Biology and Chemistry papers, which were postponed and cancelled on June 22, is likely to be held on July 5.
“The two papers are likely to be held in first week of next month, most probably on July 5 as the Board of Professional Entrance Examination is in consultation with the Government for finalizing the date, which will be conveyed to the candidates well in advance through media,” said Prof R D Sharma, Chairman of BOPEE, while talking to media persons, here today.
Pertinent to mention that BOPEE had cancelled the CET of Chemistry and also postponed the scheduled Biology test after the exchange of papers was detected in six centers of Srinagar. In these centers, the packets of D-series of Chemistry were containing Biology papers.
“There was no foul play in the exchange of  papers but only an human error, apparently on part of the printer’, claimed Prof  Sharma alleging that some elements were trying to defame the BOPEE by spreading rumours without any evidence. He also appealed media to verify the facts before reporting the things.
“All the packets were properly sealed and this was verified by the concerned persons before opening the paper at all the centers, including these six where the mistake was detected”, the BOPEE Chairman said.
However, he admitted that an internal probe has been ordered to bring the things in black and white besides ensuring that no such mistake is repeated in future.
Explaining the fool proof system involved in secrecy of the papers, Prof Sharma informed that after getting sealed by the printer, the packets are straightway sent to the two strong rooms in Jammu and Srinagar from where these are delivered to the Centers only on the same day of CET. “Before opening the packets at each centre, the seal is checked  by the concerned persons there, who include  a Government Observer (KAS officer), one Professor and Chief Superintendent (head of the institute where test is conducted),” he added.
