CGPWA launches Jeevan Parman Patar for pensioners

JAMMU, Nov 1: The Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA) here today began its campaign for Digital Life Certificate (DLC) by generating Jeevan Parman Patar of its sole surviving member, 96 years old K.R Gupta, former Chief Engineer of AIR, at his Gandhi Nagar residence.
It was generated by Sunil Sharma, former DGM BSNL and member of Executive Committee of the Association.
Gupta expressed gratitude to CGPWA for undertaking the noble work to help those who can’t visit Pension Bank for Life Certificates and said that he was worried for generating DLC.
Present on the occasion were K.B Jandial, general secretary; O.P Sharma, treasurer and Vijay Sambyal, member of EC of the Association.
Later, the CGPWA team visited the Day Care Centre, Exhibition Ground where they generated DLCs of eight more Central Government Pensioners.
This nation-wide DLC campaign 2.0 was formally launched today at New Delhi by Dr. Jitendra Singh, MoS at Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions and Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare. It ends on November 30 this year. This is one of the best practices in digital innovation launched by the Department of Pension & Pensioner Welfare (DoPPW) for the convenience of pensioners.
Under this campaign, Face Authentication Technology has been used for generating Digital Life Certificate which has enhanced ‘Ease of Living’ of 70 lakh Central Govt Pensioners.
The DLC through Face Authentication Technology is based on Aadhaar using Android based smartphones. Fifty lakh pensioners would be covered under this campaign. Last year, five lakh employees were covered under DLC campaign.
The expert members of the Association would be available at Day Care Centre (DCC), Exhibition Ground tomorrow and day after, at noon for about two hours. Members of CGPWA who are unable to come to DCC may contact Association on phone for generating DLC at their homes.
