JAMMU, Apr 13: Central Govt Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA) here today organised ‘Sangeet Sandhya’ in which budding artists from Jammu belonging to Bhartiya Sangeet Sansthan presented entertaining musical bonanza.
These amateur artists were groomed by the renowned artist and member of CGPWA, Vijay Kumar Sambyal, popularly known as Rangeelay Thakur.
President CGPWA, Kuldeep Khoda, former DGP & CVC presided over the function.
The event commenced with Ganesha Stuti and class 5th student Vanshika mesmerized the show by her stunning presentation and won hearts of everyone and Prem Gupta, former IGP announced a cash award of Rs. 2000 as a token appreciation to her.
Ridhima Bajpai and Kashish, two budding artists too captivated the audience of senior citizens by their songs.
As a tribute to the great Bollywood star, Manoj Kumar, who passed away recently, Krishna Purnam, member of J&K Police, recited his popular song ‘Hai Preet Jahan Ki Reet Sada’.
Other artists who presented their items were Udhay Singh Slathia, Shubham Banmotra, Nirmal Sufi (also played harmonium), Ram Lal, Rakesh and Devangi Sharma.
Prabhat Bali was on Tabla, Prince Bhatti on keyboard & Jatin on octopad. Disha Bhagat conducted the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Kuldeep Khoda said these artists will bring laurels to Jammu and their ‘Guru’ V.K Sambyal.
He awarded all of them with cash prizes on behalf of CGPWA as a token of appreciation.
Among others present on the occasion were former Chief Secretary, B.R Sharma, former DGP, Dr Ashok Bhan, former DG & VC IMPA Pramod Jain, vice president CGPWA, Dr Sudharshan Kumar, general secretary, K.B Jandial along with B.B Magotra, O.P Sharma, U.K Pachananda, K.L Sharma, J.K Vaid, former PCCF, S.D Swatantra, former IGPs Ashok Gupta, Ravinder Kotwal, Yoginder Koul, Vinod Raina, president BALGRAN and V.K Padha, former Director NTPC.
