JAMMU, Oct 26: The Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA), J&K is exploring possibilities of setting up a free clinic of Sujok therapy at the Day Care Centre, Exhibition Ground here for senior citizens.
Korean’s Sujok therapy is an alternate natural healing therapy which is easy and simple, and has produced amazing results in giving relief for common and chronic diseases. It is a medicine-less treatment.
Prof (Dr) K K Sharma, researcher and scientist who after retirement from Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology has become a senior practitioner of Sujok therapy at Dehradun today gave a Power Point Presentation on this upcoming therapy and interacted with the senior members of the CGPWA on various issues for bringing this therapy to Jammu.
The Association will identify the persons for training before setting the free clinic for senior citizens formally. There are reportedly some already trained personnel available in Jammu city whose services would also be solicited for the purpose.
Dr Sharma, who hails from Reasi, threw light on Korean therapy. According to this therapy, hand and foot represent all organs of the body and all diseases are cured by locating rights points mostly in palm and fingers as also its posterior side and then pressing these with use of some colours like red, green and white.
“It does not produce any side effects. This therapy is much advanced version of acupressure. Sujok helps to heal many physical problems including spondylitis, slip disc, depression and bipolar disorder”, Dr Sharma maintained.
Dr Gaurav Vaid, a young physio-therapist has also been associated with this initiative. A formal MoU will be signed between his organization and CGPWA for creation of this free clinic at Day Care Centre.
Among those present on the occasion were president, CGPWA, SS Wazir, general secretary, JK Vaid, vice president, BK Raina and other members of the association.
