Ch Manmohan expresses gratitude to centre for granting OBC status to Jats

JAMMU, Mar 22: The members of All India Jat Maha Sabha (AIJMS) today expressed their gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT) Government and the Central Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for considering and fulfilling the long-standing demand of the Jat Maha Sabha regarding granting the OBC status for the Jat community.
Addressing during a meeting, Ch Manmohan Singh, President of AIJMS and former Mayor lauded the government for fulfilling the long pending demand of the Jat community.
He highlighted the relentless efforts of the Jat Maha Sabha in advocating for reservation benefits under the OBC category over the last more than ten years and asserted that after years of tireless struggle, today marks a significant achievement as the Jat community successfully obtained OBC status.
Ch Manmohan emphasized the significance of OBC reservation would prove advantageous for the children of our community in the upcoming years, particularly in accessing opportunities within government jobs, medical and engineering stream and other educational purposes. In addition to the OBC status, Ch Manmohan Singh mentioned that the collective efforts of the Jat Maha Sabha also secured Border Reservation.
Ch Manmohan, while reaffirming his commitment to continue advocating for the rights and welfare of the Jat community, has pledged to pursue the issue of ownership rights with equal fervor.
He appealed to the Jat community members including the Mahila Shakti of the community to strengthen the Jat Maha Sabha to continue the fight for their ownership rights.
