Chain hunger strike by paramilitary personnel enters 3rd day

JAMMU, Sept 13: The chain hunger strike by paramilitary personnel demanding One Rank One Pension (OROP) in favour of ex-paramilitary personnel, widows and dependents entered third day today.
Large number of ex-paramilitary personnel assembled near Hari Singh Park Press Club under the banner of All J&K Central Para Military Forces Association and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
The protestors alleged that Government of India is dividing the soldiers of country for its petty interest, which has demoralized the soldiers on borders and within the country, who are serving the nation with dedication and 24 hours strict duty as like Indian Army.
The protestors stated that all ex-servicemen personnel of paramilitary forces played a major role in forming the present Government at Centre and it is now their duty to keep their promise of redressing the grievance and problems of ex-para military personnel, widows and dependents.
They urged the Government of India to stop doing discrimination in soldiers and extend the benefits of OROP to paramilitary forces personnel also at par with defence forces as early as possible.
While speaking, working president of the Association RL Dogra and general secretary Darshan Kumar stated that the association is ready for talks with the Government over the issue of OROP.
They urged Home Minister Rajnath Singh to take up the issue during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, so as to end discrimination with ex-paramilitary personnel, widows and dependents.
Among others present were Alam Din, Bodh Raj, Rattan Singh, Ashok Kumar, Mani Ram, Mohan Lal, Chhalo Ram, Rattan Lal Sharma, Tulsi Dass, Rattan Chand, Joginder Dev Singh, Ajmer Singh.
