JAMMU, Sept 16: Gandhi Nagar Police arrested a chain snatcher. As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a person namely Sagar Gupta, son of Chander Shekhar Gupta of Shastri Nagar with Police Station Gandhi Nagar stating that a miscreant snatched his gold chain.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR Number 234/2022 under section 382 IPC was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Pankaj Sharma under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma put in hectic efforts and finally nabbed the chain snatcher, who was identified as Ashwani Kumar, a resident of Ward Number 8 Nanak Nagar District Jammu.
The snatched gold chain was also recovered from the possession of the snatcher. Further investigation into the case is going on.
